Reader Reviews: Moulin de Paris
Nov. 17, 2007. We visited this Severna Park gem just recently, and think it’s more than first
meets the eye – from the inviting storefront bakery and café area, to the cozy dining room, complete with Edith
Piaf singing in the background.
We had tender escargots, the crispy rolls with two rice paper rolls filled with
a delectable combination of crab, pork and carrots. Ginger lemon sauce complemented these fried rolls perfectly. The Saigon
Soup was excellent with its rice noodles topped with large shrimp, scallions and cilantro in a tasty broth.
For
dinner, we chose the Saigon Crepe and the New Zealand lamb chops. The delicate rice crepe was filled with sautéed chicken,
bean sprouts, scallions and cilantro. Coconut milk sweetened the entrée. Also delicious (and tender) were the lamb
chops, a generous portion drizzled with rosemary Béarnaise sauce, beautifully presented with roasted red potatoes and
grilled zucchini slices.
The French bread was the most delicious and authentic I’ve tasted outside of France.
Likewise, the fruit tart we ate for dessert was reminiscent of any fine French patisserie.
Superb cuisine, relaxed atmosphere
and excellent service. Would I recommend? Mais, oui! -- Mary Beth G.
